6. Disbelief in western medicine especially medications. Naturally, I'm biased when it comes to this, but I am so frustrated when a patient is unwilling to try Flomax for prostate enlargement because of the potential side effects, but will use Saw Palmetto because it's natural and so will not have any side effects whatsoever. Because it's not like Flomax is made from Saw Palmetto. And it's definitely not because Flomax is a controlled dosage so you won't over or underdose yourself...

And since I felt like that wasn't enough of a change, had layers put in, a side part, and some side-bangs.

looking in the mirror the other day, i realized that it has been a long time since i've had a hickey (hickie?).

4. Lofting - people who loft their bowling balls. it sounds horrible, it's destructive, and nothing says "lacking class" than lofting your ball.

sometimes i wonder why i am going into a customer service field when i hate people so much. and then i realize - i don't hate people (i know some of you don't believe me). i hate very distinctive things that people do:

1. Whiny-ness: especially in "men". you've complained once in a high pitched tone. ok, sure. twice, annoying, but tolerable. and again. and again. why don't you stop complaining about it and do something?

Hypocrite meter: 2/10. i complain as much as the average person, but i either take action, or realize there's nothing to be done about it and let it go.

i like pi. and pie. which is why March 14th is one of my favorite days of the year. if only i had the time to bake.

i've been talking to myself waaay too much lately and realized, why don't i talk to myself in a medium where others can read what i am auto-dialogging?

a bit of background info to catch some of ya'll up: haven't dropped out of med school yet. just finishing up my surgery rotation with some ear/nose/throat, urology, and orthopedic surgery clinics. Essentially, I go to outpatient clinics and look at ear wax, penises, ass-holes, and feet all day long (most disgusting thing so far was pulling a bug out of a woman's ear... not sure if it died before we pulled it out or after, as the ear wax we pulled it out with could have been preserving it quite well).

news: in about a week and a half, i will be moving back up to Evanston to an apartment on Ridge and Noyes for rotations in OB/GYN and pediatrics.

which brings me to my first internal monologue: there are few things in this world that freak me the freak out. 1) bugs in my flour, 2) vaginal childbirth. i hyperventilate a little bit just thinking about those things. i'm terrified that the first time i'm scrubbed in to deliver a baby, i'll just pass out. in amniotic fluid and blood and urine. *shudder*

i'm back.

so i was getting ready for bed and when i took off my pants, i stepped on something cold. i think to myself "ooo, a penny. perhaps even a nickel!". instead, it was a live, wriggling earthworm. i took it outside to live the rest of its life and climbed into bed w/out washing my feet. i wonder if that's too icky? i mean... it was only a worm. it's like having dirt in your bed, right?

so i've decided to be sailor mars for halloween. does anyone have a red skirt i could borrow? or red shoes...?

Hally Berry kind of ruined Storm for me, but Rogue and Gambit were my favorite, so i'm quite pleased.

In other news, the picnic w/ deborajoy went very well but now my allergies are flaring up like mad. she took some very nice pictures which i hope to get and use as my computer background.

i am very much looking forward to going back to Chicago... my parents are just too much.

So... I did something stupid. and it won't kill me, but it's really bothering me.

i was cleaning up some programs i didn't think i needed and i deleted something called "NVIDIA"... now my computer won't go on standby... the pages scroll stiltedly... and everything looks less sharp. i'm thinking i deleted a video driver?

Has anyone had similar problems and/or know how to fix this?

I was trying to get to Bob's movie thing this past Sunday but it seemed that everything was working against me.
I was unable to get on a bus to the El station for 30 minutes. A 30 minute El ride took 50 minutes when they stopped to wait for further signals. When I finally got off at the Sheridan stop, I realized I could not move my feet and since i was still trying, ended up breaking both my flip-flops and falling onto my hands in... tar. The sun and heat had melted the asphalt on the platform. This tar had glued both of my flip-flops down.
I got up, got out of my flip-flops, peeled them up and made my way to the stairs barefoot, down the stairs and out of the station. I then proceeded to step in piles of that white tree fluff that's been flying around.
My feet literally looked tarred and feathered. I was able to get most of the fluff and dirt off, but there's still black gunk stuck to the bottoms of my feet. hahaha

In other news, i'm officially done w/ my first year of med school and am working on my proposal to work w/ the Illinois Public Health Institute.
